Hi, I’m Jonathan- Founder of Anxiety Skills Lab.

I’m Jonathan Sickinger, LCSW, a licensed therapist, anxiety specialist and coach. My understanding of anxiety comes from both sides- from years of helping others navigate it professionally and from my own lived experience learning how to respond differently when anxiety shows up.

Throughout my career, I’ve supported  people navigating anxiety, OCD, avoidance, and uncertainty. My work is informed by evidence-based approaches including CBT, ERP, ACT, Behavioral Activation, and mindfulness.

One lesson has consistently stood out: understanding anxiety and knowing what to do when it shows up are two different things.

People don’t always need more information. Sometimes they need one practical skill, a chance to practice it, and support putting it into action.

That belief helped inspire Anxiety Skills Lab.

Small skills. Big impact. Lasting change.

Why Anxiety Skills Lab:

I created Anxiety Skills Lab because I believe practical anxiety skills should be easier to access, learn, and practice.

Therapy can be an incredibly valuable resource, but cost, availability, scheduling, and long waitlists can make support difficult to access. And sometimes, people simply want practical tools they can begin using right now.

ASL turns evidence-informed anxiety strategies into short, focused learning experiences centered around skills, coaching, guided practice, and real-life use, designed to support you on your own, or as an additional resource alongside therapy.

Start when you’re ready. Learn at your own pace. Practice wherever life happens.

Learn less at once. Practice more. Use it when it matters.

The mission is simple: make evidence-informed anxiety skills practical and accessible, helping people respond differently to anxiety and move toward what matters most.
